George Spitzer, baritone and Artis Wodehouse, piano, perform Arthur Farwell’s 1908 arrangement of three songs of the Ohama Indian tribe Indian Songs Op. 32 . This live performance was part of a full program given by MELODEON, on 1/6/13 at Church of the Epiphany, NYC.

Arthur Farwell (1872-1952) used music of Native Americans, cowboy tunes, African-American spirituals, and Spanish-Californian melodies as the basis for many of his compositions. He pioneered the publishing of American composers and poets through his Wa-Wan Press.

MELODEON is a chamber group founded by Artis Wodehouse for the performance of 19th and early 20th century American music.
